Looking out from their office windows, the Parmi team’s view is nothing less than exhilarating: Seeing the cyclists, runners and cross-country skiers exploring the P’tit Train du Nord trails; the children playing in the park without a care in the world; the terrace at 83 Nord, the neighbourhood gourmet shop that warmly welcomes the locals who come to enjoy their coffee; and, ultimately, Mont-Tremblant’s summit, where the first snowflakes come early, reminding us to go out and move, regardless of the conditions.
“Mont-Tremblant is the perfect setting to experience our brand every day. It’s where people enjoy all the benefits of living life in the great outdoors. Being here, in this environment, provided us with the inspiration to create Parmi,” explained Véronik Bastien.
A versatile playground
Parmi co-founders Véronik and Michèle Bastien still vividly recall their weekends spent enjoying the family chalet in Mont-Tremblant. As children, they quickly discovered the joys of playing outside and trying different activities. As teenagers, their love of the outdoors led them to spend entire summers in Mont-Tremblant, where they combined summer jobs, trail running and mountain biking with their busy social lives.
Hiking, trail running, mountain biking, gravel biking, golf, pickleball, downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, touring, snowboarding and more: Mont-Tremblant’s activities are as plentiful as ever. Not to mention the multitude of cultural and lifestyle options – such as the abounding festivals and international sports competitions – and the diversity of the terrain and climate that make Mont-Tremblant an ideal playground to put Parmi products to the test.
“In just a single day, we can cycle to our office under a blazing sun in the morning; scale the mountain against swirling, gusty winds in the afternoon; and then go play in the park with the kids amidst a light rain after they’ve finished school. These activities test our clothing’s technical properties, such as their breathability, waterproofness, resistance, ability to dry quickly, and comfort, while ensuring their look is versatile enough for our dinner at La Petite Cachée in the evening,” Michèle said.
